JAKT
The band JAKT comes from North Carolina.
Their name JAKT, pronounced "jacked", comes from the German term meaning
"to hunt" or the Danish version meaning "the hunter". Hunting for a
name for the band this seemed a more appropriate title than any other. Though in American
slang terms it can be interpreted quite differently. This group of musicians came together
in mid-1998 after years of playing their instruments and each perfecting their talents.
Having attended similar schools through the years each had general knowledge of the other
from an early age with the exception of Tim Scott on vocals who became a participant at a
later date. Over this length of time each member has refined the ability to not only play
music with one another but to emotionally "sense" each other which becomes very
evident in their style. As yet there has been no certain "classification" placed
on their style. They have been compared to bands such as "Soul Fly" and
"Rage Against the Machine", though they have the passion of bands from years
past such as "Black Sabbath" and "Led Zeppelin", among others. Their
performances are full of energy that motivates the crowd into joining them in their music,
to actually become part of the performance.
